My Significant Other and I have LOVED owning rats. So after much contemplation, I decided to start my own rattery, with some BREEDING goals I've been dreaming of.

I've always loved all types of animals, from invertebrates to reptiles to dogs and cats. I raised hamsters as a child, but I eventually discovered a preference for rats! My passion for animals,  genetics, and biology led me to an interest in selective breeding. I love rats, but there are a couple of things I'd really like to improve on.  Their small fragile size, and tragically short lifespan. I would like to breed proportionately larger, not obese rats.  And a more long-term, trickier goal is to breed for lifespan. I plan to take steps towards these goals while finding loving homes for the rat babies created along the way.

I'm a big fan of fantasy, DnD, pathfinder and orcs are one of my favorite races.  Not only that, but I'd like to breed big, sturdy rats.  SO that's how I came up with the theme for my rattery.
